I love how subtle you show their growing bonding, there’s a lot of trust and tenderness in it. Just one phrase – 'It's so us' – and I’m melting. Also I’m visualising this mansion kinda like Saulburn style for some reason, especially after Eve’s commentary...Well, intriguing and absorbing, thank you ♥️

Why do I feel Oxana is sitting back quietly yet her mind is already 10 steps ahead - and what Eve senses on a visceral level is that she knows this. Looking forward to the explosion that's creeping up on us. Thanks Luke.

Well, isn't that a way to meet your their subject, Valentin?

The question is—is he just a drunk and high fuck-up, or is he playing at it for his own reasons...?

Yeah, I'm always suspicious of somebody who announces to the world "Here I am, nothing to worry about!"—at least in my spy fiction....

Well written - as usual. I share Eve's sense of dread, this looks too simple. I suspect Villanelle has figured out a bit more, and that will be shared in their next pillow talk. If Valentin is actually faking it, the ladies will delight in pushing him to test how far he's willing to take the farce.

Eve and Villanelle have their work cut out for them - Valentin seems like a handful!

Oh my! What a cast of characters! Anastasia takes the inappropriate arrival of Valentin in stride as if it is a common occurrence. Quite an intriguing situation. Eve's angst is understandable. She is wanting to keep her love Oxana close. ❤️ They are in unfamiliar territory and Eve feels an impending doom of sorts. What will our girls uncover in this ostentatious display of wealth? We can only try to await patiently until Luke's next spellbinding chapter. I can hardly wait to see what's next. 🤔 Thanks Luke! 😊

I think so, in my dreams and fiction the people appear more like spectres. It’s a different kind of knowing I suppose…a soul knowing. Thanks 🌸

That’s a beautiful way of putting it. I find that I have different images of characters at different times, and these overlay each other, sort of like glass slides, so you get a blurry composite. Spectral, yes, that’s it exactly

Luke, do they now look like Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer in your head when you write?

Only vaguely, Nina. Partly because I knew J & S as themselves before seeing them in the roles, but also because I don’t really ‘see’ my characters in that way. They’re more glimpsed in peripheral vision, if you know what I mean. Their voices are much clearer. I hear them.

Sometimes it is one well placed little line that re-defines the atmosphere of a story. Like:

"Villanelle and Eve nod politely."

I almost felt their eyes rolling...

Oh I can just see it. Can’t we have a new series on TV? Doesnt need to be BBC
