Oxana is learning how to be empathetic... 😊

More like being forced into awareness. Whatever works!

She may be learning the hard way, but she's still learning. I would never have imagined the old Villanelle shedding tears over hurting someone else's feelings, even Eve's. Eve is giving her a crash course in walking in someone else's shoes. It will do her good. 😊

Methinks Balice is getting a little too cocksure for her own good, however.

😭

Also, you’re killing me, sir. Is it next Wednesday yet?

I know, it's so hard waiting a week, then it takes minutes to read the instalment.

I hate waiting bc I’m impatient, but it’s also nice to have something to look forward to. And that there are KE stories in the world again! I feel like we’re all gathered around the radio for our weekly episode. ^_^

Oh Vil’s just got emotional, hasn’t she? Very unexpected, to be honest, love those subtle twists.

And also appreciate Eve’s dominating-caring-wise-behave yourself-Angel energy, as always ❀️

Loved this instalment ! Wow the way Balices mind works πŸ«£πŸ˜¬πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸ€£scary…..what’s with Bili though ? lol πŸ˜‚ hasn’t she been given the heads up ? Maybe Balice will manipulate her? I still can’t stop laughing about the dwarfs , I certainly wouldn’t mess with them πŸ˜ƒ! Loving the way this story is unfolding , Eve asking Valentin is he taking part willingly….. so much to come🎒 . Eve speaking her truth to Villanelle, is helping Villanelle to take note & helping her understanding Eves emotions on a deeper level ….. I really enjoyed it . Thanks Luke (The mastermind) πŸ’―πŸ”₯β€οΈπŸ‘πŸŽ’ . Back to counting down the days and hours πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈπŸ€£

I think Bili will be the one to be doing the manipulation.

Genius really. No space between you and Villanelle, Luke. While I only dream of moving through the world with the edge she possesses, I’m sure it’s yours whenever you want it. Lucky you.

I've always wondered. In resurrection, did eve sleep with Nico, when she was supposed to be giving it another go? I know why oxana slept with Balice. But I'm curious if eve slept with him as well.

Considering the sight of his hairy ass, and Eve giving the marriage another go, I’d say I assume so but that it’s possible either one of them felt it was too soon (or wasn’t feeling it). I know it seems a double standard, but even if she did, I think it’s still different than Balice. Eve wouldn’t have been opening herself up to someone new with Niko (old hat, really). But also, I don’t think it’s the betrayal itself that is upsetting Eve so much hereβ€”she has been pretty understanding of that overall. I think it’s like she saidβ€”having to be confronted face-to-face by Balice and see her, knowing what they did, having Balice parade it around, etc., and not have Villanelle vociferously defend her. Even if the timing wasn’t right to tell off Balice, from Eve’s dialogue Villanelle seems to be playing it more neutral than she would like (or, like she said, even lapping it up a bit) and not sending a clear enough message to Balice. I think Eve just needs to still see more of that from V. Will be curious to see if V can give her that empathy. (Though I thought she might have had a little breakthrough: β€œI don’t get jealous. I get angry when you make me jealous.” Oh. lol)

Agree, villanelle didn’t defend Eve and in my opinion she's a bit out of character…I mean she tried to kill her and Villanelle doesn't do anything, it’s eve!!! πŸ’ͺ🏻πŸ₯·

I don't think Villanelle knows that Balice was trying to kill Eve

Yeah, I think at this point they still think Villanelle was the target. But if Balice lets the truth slip…

Ok, but how many people tried to kill Villanelle and are still alive? NoneπŸ₯ŠπŸ₯ŠπŸ₯Š

This is getting juicy. Love the faithless bitch part. Dwarfs seem a bit wild. But I know the Irish believe in fairiesπŸ˜‚. I like the last part where Eve talks with Obama about her feelings. Seems to tie Balise’s opening to the end of the chapter

Oxana. Spellcheck made Obama. Don’t we wish

Yep, Balice overplayed her hand here because she wanted to impress Villanelle and rattle Eve's cageβ€”and her planning to betray Nikolai is going to blow up in her face big-time down the line. That is, unless Johnny knows she knows about Bili, and is setting up a honey trap tonight? Walking into it and getting co-opted might be a blessing in disguise for Balice....

Are the accusations of flirtation Villanelle and Eve throw at each other real, or projection? In Villanelle's case I think it's largely projectionβ€”Eve's more open and friendly, and to somebody struggling with that whole "Being Human" thing empathy might read like desire. But seeing Eve get hurt over her lover's treating people's desire for her transactionally...doesn't entirely work for me, given Eve's more than smart enough to know what she's gotten herself into falling hard for a homicidal sociopath like Villanelle.

Or am I misreading everything? Been a rough week full of IRL screw-ups and issues, so I don't entirely trust myself right now.

I have an impression that Balice was trying to get a strategic advantage with her "attack-is-the-best-defence" move, after realizing that she is "royally fucking fucked". Villanelle's and Eve's presence was just a nice bonus.

Balice told Johnny that she knows about Bili. So everyone is aware at this point, everyone but Bili. Although there is a slight possibility that Johnny was playing his game and is ahead of Balice again.

PS this chapter is a great example of the last Killer Prose. Love to see it.

Other things I liked in this installment:

- Kremlin-slanted account of British dwarf attack on unsuspecting tourists,

- the way β€œBili Iliana” sounds in my head,

- the especially kick-to-the-heart use of dialogue to reveal Oxana’s tears.

Did something else transpire between installments 13 and 14? Otherwise, I'm at a loss as to what Villanelle did wrong to Eve. When Balice walked into the drawing room, Villanelle remained indifferent to her. When Eve felt faint, Villanelle held her and reassured her with the invisible squeeze. Where does E's perception that B was all over V (and that V allowed it) come from?

Surprisingly, I feel really excited about Balice x Bili line. Two beautiful, intelligent, sophisticated women falling in love? They deserve their own story or even a book in fact :) Maybe Balice is longing for love. Pure, sincere, exciting. It's just not easy to find a good match for Balice, considering that Villanelle is reserved. Bili is amazing and they seem to be very sweet about each other so far. I wonder what Bili's plan is?
