Dear friends, now that we're approaching the finale of Killing Eve: Resurrection, I thought you might like to see some of the places I've based story locations on.
The Château de Faycelles, the first stop on the garden tour, is very loosely based on the Château de Bagatelle in the 16th arrondissement in Paris (that’s the orangery, above, where the tour group had lunch).
Chanel really do have a perfume garden at Grasse!
Les Pivoines (Tiberius's villa) was inspired by the beautiful Villa Ephrussi, at Cap Ferrat.
The final hotel of the tour - I imagined it to be like the Hôtel de Cap-Eden-Roc at Antibes. Very much Villanelle’s sort of place.
There are just a few more chapters of the present story to go, and I'm continuing to offer those for free, as promised. Soon I'll be starting another story (the continuation of KE: Resurrection), and this will be for paid subscribers. The 'How to Write Killer Prose' will continue at intervals, so paid subscribers will get both (more detailed announcement nearer the time). Meanwhile, the tension's building in the South of France. Villanelle is in a savage mood. And Eve is still missing...
Happy reading - Luke
Thank you, Luke. Coming back to the chaotic world of our favorite assassin and her lovable MI-5/6 agent has been a thrill. Get them all, Villanelle, and go get Eve... you know she has feelings for you, despite this mess. Long live VillanEve!
You’ve lured me in like catnip. As usual. 😘
